A sensational debut

I was born in 1970 in Øystese, Norway, and live in Haugesund on the western coast. I have written three crime novels which has been translated into fourteen languages overall. My debut novel "Maestro" was shortlisted for best crime fiction debut in both Norway and Holland, where I also was nominated for best translated crime fiction novel for "Het Meesterwerk" in 2018.

I hold a degree in Political Science and ICT, and has worked as a journalist, and as a freelance editor for several Norwegian publishers. I currently work as a secondary school teacher.

Maestro was my debut novel. It was first self-published in January 2016. One month later, after rave receptions, one of Norway's biggest and most prestigious publishers, Gyldendal, pre-empted the rights to Maestro and the next two books in the series featuring Viljar Ravn Gudmundsson and Lotte Skeisvoll.

The second book, Heartbreaker, was published in the spring of 2017, and it was followed by the third and final part in the series, Dead Men Dancing, in October of 2018. in january 2021 my first crime novel with police investigator Gabriel Fjell, The wolf`s hour, will be released in Norway. I also write crime fiction short stories.

I live and work in Haugesund, Norway, with my wife, Agnes Lovise Matre, which is a best selling crime author as well. We have three growned up children and four grand children.
